  •  Yes I can, Dave. Now that you mention it, yes I can. HAHAHA!

  • Southern Ray. Can’t you hear the Antique Roadshow guys saying. Ya if this idiot hadn’t cut into this rare Sweepers Box it would have been worth a thousand bucks. Now it’s just a worthless guitar.

  •  "It feels weird sawing into a vintage wood box, but I think they like their new life as a guitar. They get to sing." I wondered if I were the only one that had this odd feeling. Almost like it's wrong, but then you think about what it's doing now and what music could be made from...

  • I think it has the Uncle Enos vibe going on with some Uncle John too. Old box, thin neck, big head, not fancy. It needs one “Old Shoe” though and 5 strings and wood pegs to be Unc. Enos correct. :*)

  • Southern Ray, Ambrose, Jerry. Thanks folks. I played her for hours last night. Real sweetheart. She can sing a sweet song. A Christmas gift for my soul. I need it.

  • Yup, Keith. it will play great as a fiddle. It’s a narrow box so wouldn’t need any cutouts. It would be a Cello as it has a 25 1/2 scale length. Cello strings would make it real mello. I have a wound guitar string and a plane steel string on it now. I’m liking playing it as a Diddly now. Fun to play a two string slide. Easy to make clear notes without rattles and knocks on the wood. Action like a lap steel but comfortable to hold guitar style. Thin neck. It’s very light weight. I can shake my slide for nice vibrato on it.

  • I like antiques Rick. It feels weird sawing into a vintage wood box, but I think they like their new life as a guitar. They get to sing.
your new old Uncle John GUITAR sounds wonderful.. YOU PLAY IT WELL.

  • Hi Jock, ya a Chugger is a two string. I think it’s also a Diddly. It can be bowed too if I’d lower the action so I could finger it. It’s a guitar too. I think Shane Speal came up with Chugger. I own a nice Speal Chugger. I have it set up for bowing now and use it as a little Cello. Thanks for the comment Jock. Hey, I like your song title.

  • Isn't a 2 strig called a chugger? Just asking for a friend

    Nice build whatever.

I've made 58 bridges to date but I'm going to buy the next one down a local road then sing about it. It will be the 59th bridge street song!

  • Brand new vintage, love it Dave!
