  • Ya ED it is quite funny. Usually everything we need is right under our feet. Although, we feel the need to search in far away places and exotic lands. Case in point...When I lived in an upstate NY monastery and studied Zen, the abbott commented, he thought people did too much...they wanted to be everything. It is best just to put yourself fully into wherever you find yourself at the moment. Then wherever you go...there you are...because this present moment is the only real thing there is anyway. If you miss it...you miss your life.

  • I don't remember if it was in the Tao or the Te, but the lesson I always take with me is that the best way to find something is to stop looking for it. Seems to work very well in personal life and in business...and music.
  • Thank you Uncle John, I had thought about getting a tattoo for a long long time. I always thought it would be like buying a shirt...you like it and then a week later, you can care less. I was initiated into the martial arts before I was a teenager. Although, David Carradine's actual life was far from the Kwai Chang Cain character he played on the Kung Fu series, it put me on a good positive path that has directed my entire life. So after some thought, I decided it would be a good thing. I am quite pleased how it all worked out. The blue dragon was quite painful. The artist told me the blue pigment ink is thicker than the red ink, and does not go in as easy. Enjoy.

  • Hey Keni Lee.  I'm like ED.  No tats for me.  One son has a bunch of scary clowns!  Those you have are bright, handsome and meaningful.  So good on you.  And you have a good share of wisdom and I hope, all the courage you need.

I work part time with a good young guy who has the Chinese character for 'Big Brother' on a fore arm.  He must have had some doubt in his mind about it saying what it was supposed to say.  He was quite pleased recently when a young Chinese gal (a pretty one too) saw it and commented, "Big Brother.  That is cool."

  • Most of us learned the most imortant lessons of life as little children, but as adults we simply forgot them or we are far too sophisticated to play like little children anymore...Thanks for your responses. Enjoy

  • Hey Keni.  That was one of my better reading assignments from college.  And one I actually completed rather than just half-azzing it to a B+ grade.

  • Thank you everybody, especially for your poem SilentJim. I will leave you with these thoughts:

  • I can identify with that. But I'm more of an uncarved block kinda guy.
  • Cool. Really nice work.
