  • Captain, I looked at that video-  It took me 5 minutes to do what he did in 19 seconds.

  • We still use this kind of folding rules here in Germany, a lot of guys don`t know, how to use it for measuring, but they know a lot of tricks, here you can see how to make a star:

  • Yes it was in Pella that Spud lived. We'd go there for May day and run around town with the kids and put homemade flower baskets on doorsteps and knock and run. Simple pleasures. We'd spend all one day making baskets out of construction paper and stinky glue...

  • I have one that was my grandfathers but it`s metal. He used it when he was a sawyer, gave it to me a few years before he died.

  • PS Dave:  Spud Vangorp!  What a cool name.  That plus tulips and Iowa makes me guess he was from the Dutch colonies near Pella.

  • Huh!  Dave, your dad sounds cool.  Sad, but nearly thirty years after my dad died, I am understanding how he was cool too.

  • I'm sure they would have Uncle John. My dad loved Iowa and the road to Missouri and Grandma's farm near Steelville. He had a best friend in Iowa named Spud Vangorp. We'd go visit in Spring for the tulips. They were buddies from the Navy. Dad was a Navy pilot. Dad drank vodka and played golf. He was an advertising artist.

  • Cool, Mr. Dave.  I wonder if our dads would have been friends had they known each other.  Mine was a banty rooster with a hot head and a good heart.

  • Smart stick, that's what my dad called it...

  • Thanks guys.   Pick that is good info.  You are right about the Christian mis-info.   I was ignorant about the meaning.  I like the rule of three.

Maddog, it looked like a Christmas star to me too, but now I see the Wiccan side and after Pick's info, have no problem with that.

Davey, cool that you use one and on the side pocket thing.  I'm  a yard stick man.  I have a small collection of them and like to use them all.
