Hmm... Your f-holes never turn out good? I've started using an Exacto or razor blade to score the top layer of the wood before I start cutting out the hole. Helps keep it from splintering on the top. Then I use my coping saw or Dremel router bit well inside the edges of the holes but not precisely to the edge. I finish the holes with small files (or even needle files)
