My second "mountain dulcimer" with a 50cm VSL, a 24" x 6" x 2" sound box and a "neck-almost-thru-the box" with an elevated fretboard. Angled view of entire instrument.

Comment by Rand Moore on November 18, 2012 at 2:30pm: Ahhh, the miracles of modern photography... Actually, the wood work is quite crude. On some of the other photos you can see where on the edge of the sound board I screwed up cutting it (it split a bit of the top layer off) and so I just sanded it and continue to ignore the flaw. It plays well enough, which I guess is all that really matters.
