Macanudo Machete

I had postponed this build b/c I had a neck carving accident. I'm still new with the drawknife and took some off the face of the neck (where the fingers go). Decided to use my day off to 'rescue' it.

  • Hi Donovan.  I used to use a draw knife to carve the backs of my necks.  But the job was always uneven and you could feel it when playing the guitar.  Parts of the neck were thicker than others.  For my last few builds, I've used a rasp.  I get a much more even neck that way.  Oh, and I sand the hack out of it afterwards too :)
  • Not sure of what you use but the disk sander works well. ; )
  • I use my sander and 80 grit to carve with.
  • Nice save, Lou.
