NOTE the volume control is in the diamond cavity in the tailpiece,and there is also a mini toggle switch there for on-off.the volume control is actually a pot that controls the variance between the two pickups.same function as a three way switch but has more viariables for tone possibilities. one of the discoveries i made in electronics that does a great deal to search for that ultimate tone that people are always talking about.when turning the knob you reach a spot where the two pickups fight each other for control and you get an unusual tone there that is out of this world.
