Lap Steel 5

Not quite finished but quite playable. I built this with a 25-1/2" scale like Strats and Telecasters hoping for a good bright sound. It is nice and bright. I'm struggling with whether or not to add tone and volume controls or go straight to the amp like it is now.

    Mike . That's a fine little steel . leave it alone . If you don't already have one , invest in a volume pedal . Pick a note with the volume down , put the "pedal to the metal" as you're working the slide , and she'll sound better than a Fender ShoBud . Add you're "smooth" style pickin' style to the mix and we're talkin' magic . Great build !!!

    Thanks William. Good idea about the inline controls. I could stick it in the case and hook it up if needed.

    Why not make up a set of inline volume & tone controls? Then you could try both ways.
