Lap steel #24

Wiring and some more staining on the back cover plate and I can string her up. Padauk surround on the single coil pup. Hardwood nut (looks a little flimsy to me, but i'll try it). Cherry cover plate on back that needs stain and varnish.

  • Thanks fellows, the turquoise was not hard at all. The shapes of the markers are stickers from a kid's school kit. They aren't shiny so the paint doesn't run as easy. The rectangle around the sticker is just masking tape layed down along the silver lines that came on the fretboard. I had everything ready for spraying in less than an hour and the spraying only took moments. Layers of yellow and dark blue making the turquoise. Ta Ta....

  • A big second on the turquoise.   This one is the big chief.

  • I like the turquoise on the fretboard - nice look.  It also looks like some pretty meticulous painting that would try my patience!
