picked up a box of this from a local store for .99 cents per sq ft the other day. It is IPE or "Brazilian Walnut" 3/4 X 3 inch in various lengths. I have enough for at least 16 necks and some more shorter pieces which could be fretboards, or UKe necks, or something. It is the hardest wood I have ever held in my hands. It is also very heavy. The next step is to mill it down to neck blanks and start building. very pretty. From what I have read about it, it is difficult to cut and work with. We will see.
