Inventor's Lamp

At one of the places I was vending this winter, the person at the table next to mine asked about getting a lamp for her young son. She described him as inventive and curious, so when I built his lamp I just had to try to build something that would inspire him to create. Based on other lamps she looked at, she requested a mason jar globe and a working meter. This is what I came up with. I would have actually liked to do even more with it, but as it is I already way overshot what I would normally put into a lamp for the price we agreed on. You “start” this lamp by turning the key. Once that has been done, each of the lamps is controlled by their own switch. The small bulb is controlled by the toggle switch, and the large bulb in the mason jar is controlled by a rotary switch with a vintage radio knob.
