Thank for the comments everyone, the tail stock was just an Idea to use extra neck material instead of cutting it off .I'm going to make a peg wall hanger for it and I'm going to try a strap in it too.

In the other pic, he had a strap on the wood in between. Maybe the hole is for hanging it upside down.
