  Barn red and black paints make a good old and rusty.   I use acrylic craft paint.

  Great box!  'Antiquing' the eye-bolt sounds like an awesome suggestion - wouldn't change how it plays, but would look sweet!

  Thank you Deker..the passing show play remarkably well..i think it has to do with the bridge nut..bone..nice warm sound
