Sorry Bill, can not help you on the mp3s. That kind of thing is piss you off frustrating. The 90 degree cable might me good. But the female part? I don't know nothing about those.
The headstock was a little too thin and it took a washer to make up the difference. Hopefully the jack won't be a problem...especially if you use a 90 degree female plug. I've got an mp3 to upload, but have been unsuccessful so far. I've tried it with two different computers.
We don't need no steenking volume control. Nice build. What are the big circles/washers on the tuners? They look all right.
You know out the front might be a real good place for the jack. I put them on the bottom and they get in my way when I sit and play. I put them on the end and they get in the way when I try to lean them against the wall.
