  • Thanks, the 2 hub caps and the hardwood innards make the instrument quite heavy, this should be compensated by attaching the strap to roughly under the 18th fret. The saddle will be sanded thinner to lower the action, and the bridge will be changed to a piece of threaded brass rod. There is a small gap between the two caps (about 1/16"), hence no sound holes. For interest, the fret board is Tasmanian Oak which is quite light in color, it has been stained with a mixture of balsamic and white vinegar which has been infused with steel wool, to make the wood look old.

  • Wow Al...thats cool. I don't get turned on by many headstocks but thats really neat! Reminds me of the 5th string on a banjo. I'm working on a 1 string reso diddlybow right now. It's not a through body like yours,just attached under the neck. I guess that works. Anyways, cool beans...looks good mate!
