A shot of the headstock from directly above. I was thinking about a 45° chamfer on the top curve, but decided against it.

    I use minwax golden oak stain on many of my necks---if you wipe it off right away and only use one coat, it only darkens the grain and looks fantastic on the red oak---play with some scraps first---you can always add some natural if it comes out too dark. NICE WORK!!!!

    Thanks! Yep - red oak, Dewy. He thought it would look good with the punch box I'm using for the build. I might use a golden stain on it - haven't decided yet. I don't want to darken it too much.
