Headless Travel CBG 2

Starting building this today, I want to fit the tuners inside the box and have the actual tuning pegs sticking out, and i want the tremolo arm to be properly functional. Should be a fun challenge! Probably going to put in a bridge humbucker and a telecaster neck pickup. Need to put a bit of thought into how to secure the strings at the head(less) end though. Any ideas?

  • It's not a coincidence it's sitting right there!
  • How about sanding a flat on the back of the neck, and using that hinge you got there?
  • I was thinking maybe eye-bolts, (there is one on my carpet in this picture!), i could screw 3 of them into the top and loop 2 strings onto each one. A plate was my initial idea, but I wouldn't know where to find, or how to make a suitable plate.
  • Slots! If there is enough material left above the nut, just cut 6 slots width of the strings - the ball and tension will hold them in. If there isnt enough material, how about a plate with 6 holes in screwed to the back of the neck (so the string goes up the back of theck a little way, through, the slot, then back down the front)?
    Gonna be cool man! :o)
