Born today. This guitar has a story. Nice old long 100 cigar size box. I cut about 4 inches off the shoulder end of the box so my bridge lands in the center of the box. Also flipped the lid so it is arched up to keep the bridge from sinking the top. The neck is built up from a weak eBay neck blank of poplar. I added a 1 inch thick hard Maple fretboard to keep the neck from bowing. That led to the unusual peg box for my tuners. She sounds great! Bass tone tuned GDgd.

Oh Uncle. I didn't make "Freeker". Got him at Menards years ago. He hangs on our door and freaks out when anything comes in front of him. Eyes flash, shrieks ensue. Video tomorrow with Factory Smokers sound sample.

Thanks Uncle. I had a lot of fun playing her tonight. She's a deep voiced lady. Sounds good slidin. Yup, my slides are resilient and usually win over other pottery objects. They do die sometimes. I just found a few scratches in my fave Stevense style bar today. I'm going to refire it and heal the scratches by remelting the glaze. I'm firing off a new batch for our Holliday sale coming up. I glazed a dozen today and some more jug band cigar box player mugs. Fun day, lots happened.

Dave, yesterday I had a mishap with one of my slides that you made. Knocked it off the shelf in front of my computer. Heard a bad noise, said a bad word, picked up the slide and it seemed fine. Then I found a piece of chipped blue ceramic that looked like it could have come off the red and blue slide. -- Turned out the slide banged my blue tea mug and chipped it. Tough slide!
