Full frontal

Leave it to a frustrated architect to over complicate a simple project. This is my first in a series of builds: "Reso-phi" that includes a spun aluminum resonator cone and inspiration from the Greek letter "phi" (a circle with a bisecting line) as a reference to the " golden mean" or "golden ratio". The box proportions and location of the cone in the soundbox are based on this golden ratio - the guiding proportions for many of the earliest Greek temples as well as contemporary building designs.

  • I think it's plenty strong enough-only time will tell. String pull seems to have no effect on the straightness of the neck. The truss bar had to stop at the humbucker so it doesn't go through the box. A shorter piece of the bar was glued in place below the sound hole for hole reinforcment (and aesthetics).
  • Huh.  Looks good.  Looks like a truss rod through the box.   Is it plenty strong?  Herculean?
