Yes, it is a player. Thanks UJ. I played it in church yesterday. It doesn't sound as nasty or loud as I had hoped, so I might need to move the pup a little closer to the strings, or maybe just the shorter strings at higher pitches don't vibrate as widely as they do on guitars. But it does work, and actually plays OK.
