first winding

last night I had my first go at winding a pickup... I used 3 switch magnets 20x5mm , 42 gauge wire, end plates made from a box insert, and a hand drill to wind. My respect now goes out to all who have succeeded... I didn't notice the start end wire had snapped until the wound was about 4000. may just keep this one as a souvenir of a sore arm.

    Same thing happened to me. I took a deep breath, grabbed the x-acto knife and sliced off 5000 wraps. I immediately put 5000 back on (carefully). It sucks, but there's not much else you can do. It's like anything else; you learn by your mistakes.

    Very nice. I sure would wind that again. Be a shame not to use it since youve gone this far.
