  • One thing left to do is finish the headstock. It was never my intention of leaving it rectangular but I wanted to see how the zither pins performed first. They are okay, but tend to break heavier guitar strings if you aren't careful.

  • Thanks for the info Wormil. I'd be one of those old timers, but I never have seen this method before. Old dog sees new trick... Thanks

  • I meant to add, that apparently the old timers would notch the back of the fingerboard then pull the wire through and twist it, tucking the extra into the notch, then gluing the fingerboard to the neck. No way for them to ever come loose that way.

  • Dave, I drilled small pilot holes and just hammered them in like staples. Originally was going to put a drop of super glue in each hole but they were in there so tight I decided to wait and see how they held up. 

  • Very nice #1. Love the copper frets. Good idea for a lap steel fretmarker. How did you hold them in?
