Fiddlestick-1

Bored with straight lines and right angles ? Convert a violin ! This is the Fiddlestick, made from a 3/4 size cheapo fiddle and an oak stick. It has a rod piezo in the saddle, a disc piezo in the body, a volume pot and a blend pot for the 2 piezos. This is a sort of trial build, hence the back is tacked on with hot glue. It sounds OK and may improve when the back's on properly.

  • lol just read what I posted ... wow that beer last night must have been strong stuff, its effected my spelling ... that should of course have read Bemuzic's playing ..!!!!

  • Thats a real nice build Digly ... what scale length is it ....the video with Bemisic playing makes it sound awsome.

  • Thanks JP.

  • Nice

  • 3 stringers are nice. I learned a lot from playing strum sticks. I had a G short one and then a D long strumstick. It led me to tenor banjo and 4 string box guitars.

  • Thanks Dave and Rodney - yes I like 3-stringers. I'm tempted to make 4-string 'standard' CBG but I can't play 3 properly yet !

  • A 3-stringer too. Looks great!

  • Very nice looking job. Clean work. Your guitfiddle is beautiful...

  • its  in a modded  violin  case  ,,  my  idea   while   building these  for  production was  to  save  on shipping    with  the shorter  size  , and  a built in  shippin  box  ;-)

  • Thanks, Pick. It certainly caused a bit of head scratching, especially about the neck angle and attachment. I like the fact that 'Lil Hag' fits in a case ! Was it a custom case or a modified violin case ?
