No.5 Tiger Lilly. This fiddle is one that changed the way I build CBFs.
It has a second hand 3/4 neck, a mammoth ivory nut. Still not too good at the string height or bridge placement thingies, but getting better. This project is where the dumb luck came into play. The top of this box was warped, and I thought I should straighten it before I start to build it. Then it came to me, Duh, to make the box fit the top. Leaving the curve in the top would make it much easier to get the bow to the e and g strings. So, by arching both end of the box and removing a little from both sides, the top is curved over the box and, viola, no more hitting the top side edges with the bow.
The scale is around 3/4 and a little better on volume.
