hi jim thanks for the comment. the neck is built like a a-style mandolin but built the end of the neck with a v- block like a wedge and built the the end of the box like a mandolin head block then made another head block about 2 1/2" back in the box dowled neck thru both blocks and glued. there is alot of string tention involved just like a fiddle. you dont want it warping or busting it would rip your box apart if its not supported or reinforced correctly. i also built bracing and sound bars inside the box its alot of work. but worth it at the end. this thing realy rings . even without juice .thanks again! scott............ feel free to give me a shout any time .
Hey Scott, this is real nice... I love these boxes they sound great... Is this a bolt on neck? I also want to build a mandolin I already have the tuners just need to get around to it. I hope you are going to be able to post some video... take care Jim
