Crimson...the stain is RIT scarlet red dye. To get it uniform, I wiped on lots of coats of the stain until it looked just right. Then came the shellac sealer, then Rustoleum clear lacquer.
I used the stain right out of the bottle undiluted.

OOOLALA !! At first i thought padauk, but this is pine right? black binding? great lookin pups...flipped the control plate over...very nice !!!
