  • Thanks Kale! Street strings and fishing line strings have their own unique tone. I favor the fishing line, but I wanted one guitar that allowed me to cover both bases with one guitar. It is definitely taking some getting used to, but I’m having fun with it.

  • Wow. That's super cool. Same tuning but different string materials for a different tone.

  • Thanks, Doug.

  • That’s high praise Uncle John! Thanks.

Both heads are tuned GD same octave. Top neck has nickel wound strings and the bottom has flourocarbon fishing line strings, so there is quite a contrast in the tone of each. I have found that switching necks mid song doesn’t work for me, so I choose one at the start of a song.

  • Pretty close to a TEN, Doug.  Are the two heads tuned an octave apart?

  • Thanks for the smiles Alan! This is my second attempt at a double neck; I didn’t really like my first one. It was big and clunky. This one feels much better, but a double neck definitely has a different feel. I’m getting used to it and I hope it will become my go to guitar, at least for a while! Time will tell.

  • "Yup!", every man should have a Double Neck Build, I have 2 :-) :-)

  • You are so right Glenn! Because of all of those variables, I’m never quite sure how a CBG will sound and I’m often surprised. That is a big part of the fun.

  • Thanks Warren! I plan to demo it at the Zoom meeting today. Hope you can join us.

  • Agreed Doug! For me personally the cbg movement is fetching partly due to the many MANY tones from all the variations of boxes, etc., and pairing nylon & steel strings/2 necks/1 git is a super sweet idea. -Glenn
