Strings are located a uniform 5mm above the fret board throughout the run length of the neck. I tried a two point contact floating bridge on fretless, but may switch it over to a solid contact bridge one like I installed on the "WILD" Do-Brother (shown below) The two points of contact are putting impression dents into the paint can lid.
