Found an old tambourine thing at Goodwill. A craft dowel and uke tuner later I built myself a diddley-jo. Pretty loud for its size, too.

    Looks real good! I've got one much like it but with a finger board fretted to a diatonic scale and just the one string on it too. I'm now working on it to try and improve the intonation though. The nut to bridge distance was not quite right when it was originally made by a friend who recently then gave it to me.
