My second magnetic pickup. I used scrap spanish cedar from a cigar box divider, two rare earth magnets from Radioshack, magnet wire from an old transformer from a radio, and an 8-32 machine screw. Drilled a 3/16" hole for the magnets in the bottom piece and a 5/32" hole in the middle piece for the screw. Then I glued the two together to form the bottom section. Works pretty good. I tested it by holding it over my guitar, and as long as it's within 1/8" of the strings, its pretty loud.
