Here's another shot of the box from a different angle. I can't decide whether to go with chrome or gold hardware on this box. I'm gonna put a single pole mag pup and a piezo bridge/pick-up on it. It's gonna have a stained mahogany neck and head stock, if that helps.I need some input - what do you think?

    yup mark...or squirt it with that plastic spray in a can from the depot...little more build than laquer and not quite as brittle...or i was thinkin if you spray the pups, spray these to match...

    I have the gold covers on my first build. It is 3 months old, I play it daily and they have no signs of wear yet. I like the gold with that box.

    So I'm wondering if it would make a difference if I shot the gold ones with clear lacquer. What do you think?

    chome! the gold will wear off in  few weeks of playing...i have since quite using those gold covers as the gold plating is real thin!...the gold screens will tune black after a few days of play : (
