  • yeap, you're right... i used the dog bowl as a template and, with a lot of patience i carefully cut out the circle. i used to work with a dremel attachment, using the dremel as a router... worked well but it was pretty noisy and too messy. now, i just draw the circle with a pencil then use the knife (with a new sharp blade), slowly... and worked the circle twice... then a little push down and it turns out great..! :)

  • Wow! That's a nice circle cut-out. I guess you used the doggy bowl (I'm guessing that's what you are using for the resonator from your other photo) as a template and used the utility knife to cut around it. Right? Or did you use some other method to cut it?

The last and only time I tried it, I drilled a small hole for a nail in the middle, mounted a small board of wood using a screw so I could pivot the wood "arm" around the center hole, and I mounted a box cutter blade to the far end of the wood arm to cut my circle, but it ended up pretty sloppy, so I gave up. Since then I bought a big circle cutter attachment for a hand drill, and when I tested it out, I decided it was too potentially lethal to use without some kind of support structure for the hand drill (or perhaps a drill press instead of a hand drill). I guess I should try it again using a bowl template and utility knife as you've done.
