  Uncle John, this one is strung for low G. I used a set of soprano strings; so the G is actually a smaller diameter, but wrapped. I like the linear tuning better.  It's easier for me to sing in that set-up.

  Good deal.   Have you ever tried low G tuning?  It makes the G string an ovtave lower and the sound more guitar like ( and less uke like).  Some like it and some don't.
