cigar box mandolin

This cigar box mandolin has been donated to the radio station I manage. It was part of the collection of Margot Mayo, a member of the NYC folk scene around WWII. It may have been old then. It is based on a "Wessel's Pride" cigar box, which might help an expert date it. Bridge and tailpiece missing, but otherwise in good shape. This instrument is looking for a home.

    Very nice.  A great offer.  Can you search out Shane Speal using the box at page top right?  He has or has connections to a cigar box instrument museum.
