  • You're quite right - the lighter colour is indeed maple. The darker colour is teak - they were both left over from some paintings I did. The veneer was necessary because I made a mistake in drilling one of the tuning pegs and so had to cover the filled hole, but it was one of those fortuitous accidents that made the project better I think. They're very thin - about 1mm thick. You can still see the colour of the poplar on the sides though.

  • Hi Chicken Bone John. Chuffed to have you comment, thanks! There's two types of wood veneer, interlocked and laid flush on top of poplar neck (bought from you actually!). The dark brown is a bit of acrylic pin striping.

  • Dead cool headstock..is that inlaid or some crafty graphickery?
