This is what it should look like once it's all glued up. The neck will be glued to the bottom, and the fretboard is cut at the 12th fret to allow the box to open once it's unstrung.
It's from a really cheap Ukulele. As I mentioned earlier, I wanted to cut off the fretboard at the 12th fret and glue them to the soundboard so I could open the lid and still keep the look. When I did that, I could see that it looks like cheap pine. Yes, it's painted. Poorly.
