Thanks for the comment Michael. The piezos pick up noise when the box is thumped or tapped, however they don't seem to do much with the string vibration. I am guessing that the purse handle is a cheap wood that isn't effectively transferring the vibrations through to the pick ups. My other thought is that there is a small gap between the saddle and the bridge so the sound is not getting passed though to the bridge.
