    Jonathan, I read about pulling off the label here on the nation. The idea is to loosen up the wood some for acoustic vibration. I also tried to shave off a layer of the plywood with less success. The box is pretty thin in profile so I wanted to do what I could to make it sound decent. It came out ok I think.

    I don't know if they really work or not, but they look neat. Until the box is closed up anyway.
