  • A short demo here of what this thing actually sounds like.

Couldn't see anyway to directly upload an MP3 or have I overlooked something ?

  • Thanks will check it out

  • This info on tuners may be of use?

  • I would say leave it alone, look at a lot of pics and build another.

I don't like to have to use screws or other string retainers, but commonly have to do so.  So do most of us.  So does Fender!   I think it helps to have more distance (just a bit) between the nut and near string than you do here.

Look at pics and see how other do it.   Gitty sells a little wood string guide with holes that guide and maybe put down pressure on the strings.  You could make your own too.

If you are new to this, how is the playing going?  Lots of help on line and at page top under Resources- hover your cursor there and find 'how to play.'   My fave starter lesson is knotlenny''s cbg 101.    You can google it or find it a page top.

  • Thanks John, It didn't turn out too bad for first attempt. Might have to rearrange the machine heads. Not quite where they ought to be, hence the additional screws in the head-stock. I should have slowed down maybe and thought it through before drilling the holes. Or maybe I'll leave as is so that I can gauge subsequent build improvements. LOL
