I love the ingenious design. It must have been from one person back in the day, or perhaps an article in a magazine like Popular Mechanics or Boys Life. I've been looking for a good old thick metal gas can for a while now to build one of my own but no luck so far. The newer cans are thin and unattractive.
That is a brilliant design! I may use something like that soon. I have a tin box that was my late brothers, but I have been reluctant to use it because I didn't want to permanently damage it. This is an excellent solution!
