  • I'm with AGP: The word 'beautiful' just doen't have enough vovels for this instrument! Congratulations on a spectacular build!

  • Sawmill.  That's right.  My memory and good looks are fading.  Fast.

  • "Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeautiful"   :-)

  • Thanks guys!

I've heard GDGD call sawmill tuning but groundhog has a nice ring to it to. Yup UJ, I have a fancy store-bought bouzouki that is tuned GDAE and C, D, Dm, D7, G, Gm, G7, Em and E7 are easy but at this scale length everything else is hard or impossible with my arthritic/CTS hands. I really like the drone of ADAD and you can play a lot of easy "implied" chords with 2 fingers.

  • Your photo in full size is even more of a knock out.  Here it is in B&W.434297092?profile=original

  • Great looking instrument and interesting for what it is.  Great photo and setting.  I have tried a similar tuning on a mando GDGD same string relationships.  I think it is called Groundhog tuning.  Oh!  You could go octave mando tuning GDAE too.  Do you know the basic 2 finger mando chords for keys G and C?  Easy to find and play.
