It's actually pine! I've got a bunch of it sitting around... gonna try maple for the next one, but that's a tangent of it's own... Went to Lowe's a while back, and got 3 different stains on clearance for 2 bucks a pop. Not sure of the brand, but this one is called simply "Rosewood," and it really compliments the box. Thanks!
