The neck is poplar with a black, wipe-on, water based stain. I didn't put a clear finish over it because I didn't want to change how it looked. The piezo is the radio shack one which I pulled out of the plastic housing. I just taped it to the top of the through-neck and the bridge presses down on top of it.
