Blue Haze Lap Steel Number 5. Martin Dobro strings tuned to open G. Base and neck are Hickory. Make a real nice job, loads and loads of sustain, but very hard to work with, tears out real easy and burns real fast. Machine heads are Bubinga with sealed chrome tuners. They are glued (TiteBond II) and screwed to base. The bridge and nut are aluminum angle, 1.25×1.25x.125inches. Scale length is 560mm (approx 22”). String spacing is 10mm. Pick up trim plate is Red Oak. Single coil pickup. Steel bar is home-made too. Has a great sound and like I said loads of sustain.
