    because of the angled paralell i/4 inch maple stripes glued in to the three pieces of walnut,[which actually makes it a 5-piece back],that the diamond inlay in the center is actually floating on top of the back.kinda 3-demensional looking. i likes it like that. thanks fer the comments everybody.
