That's the shipping tape I covered the front with. I overlapped the clear tape with electrical tape on the back, to keep it from coming loose

Thanks, Rick. I see clearly now. This has me thinking of colored electrical tape, "duct" style tape (aka: fashion tape) that I see available in all sorts of ornamental finishes, medical tapes, artist or paper tapes that will absorb a bit of decoupage glue, paints, or ink from pens and sharpie markers... Got to stop my imagination, as I don't need that many pickups. But maybe others will be inspired.

Yeah, I kept the part of the box label in tact, in case I wanted to glue it to the pickup. It looks cool either way.
