Amp cases

These are old school outdoor speakers from a remodel that had a in-ground pool in the back yard. The original install was mid 1950's and these were mounted on the perimeter wall and other than being painted once or twice, remained undisturbed until the remod.About 12" x 12" x 5" tapering to around 4" at the top . All metal including the cast handles. A little walnut shell blasting and they should be ready for a new paint job. Maybe I'll just clear coat Rustoleum and leave the patina be ;)

  • Thank's guys. I thought they were just too cool to let them go to the grave. Although they were planned for different cases, I brought in a couple of 5 watt GF chip amps a while back but now thinking that one needs to find it's way into one of these.

  • I like the old look too. They'll make nice 'stealth' amps.

  • Like Maddog said , good as they are, maybe some transparent mat varnish to keep them in this state :)

    Nice Rescue !!

  • Run'em as found. The look incredible as is. Just two cents worth.

  • I have a tendency to agree with ya. A bath and repaint might just knock down the charm a couple of notches.

They were headed for the dumpster before I rescued them. I think the guy I grabbed them from may have thought I was nuts when I told him what my plans for them were.

  • Those are awesome Ron, I like em' just the way they are. But I'm a rusty/dusty kind a guy.
