AGP #386 - ''Arse-Up-Arnie''

AGP #386 - “Arse-Up-Arnie”(3 String Fretted Biscuit Tin Guitar)Scale: 584.2mm / 23 inchesStrings : .050NW / .034NW / .024NW /Tuned : G / D / g /The design for this build was unashamedly pilfered from a recent post by the Englishman Paul Scofield, but done a little bit differently, ala AGP Style, and what a great design it was to ‘Nick’, because it does sound “Very Nice”.The 280x180x60mm Tin is “Arnotts”, arguably Australia’s favourite brand of Biscuits, and a nice size for making CBG’s, the riveted Sound Board is 7mm ‘Golden Teak’ stained Pine Ply, the Neck is unstained Cypress Pine, both coated with ‘Organoil’, which is a mixture of Beeswax and Citrus Oils, looks good, feels good and smells nice!, the Reso is the bowl of a $2 Stainless Steel slotted spoon, found in a Charity Shop, and a 7.8k Tele Type Neck Pickup is wired through a Tone Pot to the Output Jack.:-)

  • "Thanks Maddog", Yep!, spot on!, it is a fun little git to play, the 23" short scale allows this old Ham Fisted Bricky to actually reach and form a few chords!  :-D

  • Nice! Looks like a fun one to play!

  • Its healing up real nice ,will give a big battle scarr ! slide work is no problemo, im still working on the vingering that will take some more time ! and thanks for the vote of support ! appriciated !

  • "Thanks Andries", Yep!, jumped on to his idea very quickly, I don't know what scale length, string gauges & tuning his build was in the sound demo, I,m presuming it was around a 25½" scale, and strung with lighter strings than I used on my 23" heavy strings version, so there is a sound difference between his and mine, but it still sounds nice, but!, I'm not sure if you call it a Reso Sound, will hopefully try and get a sound demo of it up soon, hope your recovery from that nasty hand injury doesn't take too long, so look after it my friend!  :-)
