AGP #300 - ''UJ''

AGP #300 - “UJ”(3 String Licence Plate Guitar)Scale : 635mm / 25inchesStrings : .048NW / .032NW / .022NW /Tuning: G / D / g /The Box sides are Douglas Fir stained with Japan Brown, the Box bottom is Aluminium checker plate, the Neck is Grey Ironbark & the Fretboard is Ivy Patterned White Oak, both stained with Old Baltic, as are the Yellow Wood Ash Headstock Wings, the Forest Red Gum Nut and Bridge wood, a 6.5k Tele Type Neck Pickup is hardwired to the Jack.Found the Licence Plate on Ebay while searching for a Harley Davidson Plate, and couldn’t help myself, I thought it would be the perfect way to hit the #300 Build Mark, when I first started my CBG journey some 4 years + ago, the first member to friend me was a guy from “Iowa” called “Uncle John”, and ever since he has been a source of encouragement, constructive criticism, wit, and of course humour, not only for me, but also for countless others, #300 is not the end of the journey, but is the start of the next chapter :-D

  • Thanks, I have made a few license plate guitars, love the look and sound, like a dobro. Maybe I will try to put a license plate on both sides, thanks for your input. Rock on!
  • "Thanks again Dennis", I wouldn't say it sounds "More Tinny", I have built a dozen or so Licence Plate builds, some with Metal backs and some with Timber, have never really tried to compare the difference between the 2, but this one with the checker plate back does sound quite loud un-amped, I have used Aluminium Checker Plate on a few different builds in the past, mainly because I acquired a large amount of "FREE :-)" offcut pieces some while back  :-D

  • Nice work, never tried a plate on the back, does it sound more tinny?
  • "Thanks Wes & James O"    :-)

  • Another Masterpiece AGP# fine job Man

  • "Thanks Erasmo", Yep!, very happy with the look of the old recycled Douglas Fir Box Sides with the stain I used  :-)

  • "Thanks Bones"  :-)

  • A fine likeness and I am honored.  Wow, that is even the year I was born!   I bet it sounds great.

  • Standing ovation sir .big ups for the 300# done .UJ will be proud I bet .
  • "Thanks Maddog" nothing's too good for the "King" of the "Cigar Box Nation" :-D
