  • Here's my fender rip off idea. The strings stay straight all the way thru the bridge. The springs (I know one's missing. It fell to the floor and is lost forever) are humbucker adjusting springs.

  • Great looking prototype, the different views really shows what you are thinking about.

  • Looking at it next to my Les Paul style bridges and my fender bridges, it's less than any of them right now. Once I get in the shop tomorrow, I'm gonna play with ways to do it on just the nut.
  • only thing I can see is you might put stress on the strings at the bend. Might cause excessive breakage.
  • Now that ive done this and seen the angles, I think it might work with just the nuts as in my first drawing.
  • Creative idea, Randy. Gets the gears in my own head turning. I'll have to go to the hardware store and do some brainstorming.
  • This is a crappy 5 min mock up with many quality issues, but i am convinced after building it that it will work.

  • Have you thought about using square nuts for the saddles instead? Those small hex nuts I would think might possibly roll... Although the string tension would probably prevent that from happening (now that I think about it)
  • "Make it don't buy it" should be the CBG motto. Can's wait to see the finished product, looks to me like it will work fine.
